Top tube cable routing on Pinarello Trevisostacker

I posted this in the tech section but haven't got a response yet. It's a vintage Pin so I'll try here as well.
What is the easiest way to get a brake cable thru a top tube? I have a Pinarello and I'm replacing the rear brake cable and I'm stumped as to how to get the inner cable to come out of the top tube.

I've done this fishing electrical wire- should work on a bike. Place a vacuum cleaner hose over one end, drop a string into other end, fish the cable thru with the string.
If string hasn't worked, try dental floss...nmbicyclerepairman
