Bottechia info needed853

I have a chance to get one and want to know the value of it(don't want to OVER pay). It is in ok conditions, it is white with championship stripe stickers and Campy super record components. It is made from Columbus tubing but I can't tell what kind.( half the sticker is gone). Where can I find more info on these bikes or this particular one with super record.

Thanks
Almost w/o fail the first place to look is here...Walter

Looks like you have one of the better ones.

I should note that some feel the prices listed are high.
I can get it for $400...is this a good price? nm853

I would think soWalter

S Record stuff sells for decent money by itself so the complete bike for 4 bills doesn't sound bad to me, I mean there'll always be someone who found one at a Salvation Army for 19.99 but in the real world you're doing fine, imho, assuming everything is straight of course.

Is it one of the team replicas Sheldon Brown mentions?

I personally like the picture on the top of this page.

I think the prices listed on Sheldon's site for estimation are a bit high right now as well...just my opinion. But when I compare what I have sold a few bikes for with the site, the site is higher.

You could part it out and easily sell for more than $400. I've got an old Bianchi that probably wouldn't have sold for much more than $200 built up. I sold the Campy NR derailleurs and other parts for about $300 and the frame for $165. The Bottechia should be worth more than that --they were the top of the heap back when I bought my Bianchi in the mid-80s.
