I got it for 150 at the local play it again sports. It has a shimano 105 14 speed component group and is a steel lug frame. I was wondering if anybody knows anything about what year it is and I'm looking for any comments on the bike itself. Thanks from a newbie.

I'd say you got a good deal for $150Dave Hickey

It looks very clean. I have that 105 group in an older bike and it works great. Are the brakes and levers 105? My group had dark green levers and brakes. I'm not sure Giant's will ever have collectors value, but you sure have a nice retro ride.

Yes it is 100% Shimano 105, well it was. I just changed out the front wheel, it was a tubular (the rear was clincher???) and I didn't feel like needing to keep both kind of spares around. Not to mention, in my newbie state the whole tubular thing was a bit foreign and deemed unnecessary for me. So now the bike is all Shimano 105 except for the front hub which is now Shimano Tiagra.
