I recently purchased an early '70's road bike from the Goodwill and was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me where I could locate Raleigh Serial Numbers so I could find out more about it's origin. I already tried Oldroads.com but they didn't have a very comprehensive list.

Thanks

Often components can help give you an estimate of age (assuming they are orginal). Seats are a good place to start as the manufacturing date is often molded into the plastic shell.

Thanks again for all your help. Incidentally the components are Huret, Brooks professional saddle, chrome frame with ornate lugs, original tires, bar tape and brake hood covers.
