I just got some NOS shifters, but have no idea how they go together. Is there an exploded view drawing on the internet that will assist me or can someone tell me in what order all the washers go together? TIA

if I remember right: First go the metal stoppers ..the metal pieces that prevent the shifter from extending to far.The round plasic washer goes on the frame next. Then put the shifter goes on ..making sure that the smaller indentation goes against the washer. Next put on the other white plastic washer the funnier looking one. It should fit in there so that the flat end is on the outside. Then should come a metal type washer/cover and the fixing screws. I am doing this from memory and from work so I hope I was accurate.

Place the aluminum inside piece onto the square shifter boss on the frame, tang oriented to the lower front of the downtube and pointed out.

Place the parallel faced teflon washer onto the boss next. Snug up against inside piece.

Slide the shift lever on, 90 degree cut-out inward, cratered cut-out outward. The cable hole will be toward the front of the bike. The larger hole opening will be up, smaller opening down.

Fit the beveled edged teflon washer into the shift lever, so that the outer edge is flush with the shifter and the shifter boss.

Place the little lockwasher on the thumb screw, then the wider washer with "Campagnolo" printed on it, then screw the thumb screw into the shifter boss.

That's it. Tighten the thumb screw to the resistance you want. Elegant in it's simplicity, and it will last a lifetime.
