Adjusting Chorus monoplaner brakes(2 posts)

Adjusting Chorus monoplaner brakesmarron

I am replacing the Delta Brakes on my Merckx with some '92 Chorus brakes. These are the ones with the very broad brake calipers. Does anyone have any suggustions on how to adjust the toe-in short of bending the caliper arms? I am still using the origninal pad holders with the wheel guides and there is no provision for adjustment there.

If the fixing bolt is long enough, try a variable-thickness wsher. Turn the washer until you get the proper toe-in, then tighten. I think some mountain/hybrid bike brake models used that method of toe-in adjustment, so LBSs should know what I'm talking about.
