I've been working on cleaning up some older components. I'm using Flitz to remove some corosion. Is there a better brand? Or is there a board favorite?
Do they still make Naval Jelly?retro

No kidding, that was the name of a pink gel rust remover I used to use when I worked on cars. It's caustic as hell (phosphoric acid, I think), but it will take rust off ANYTHING in about 15 minutes. It's a chemical dissolver, not a polish, so you'll still have to shine things up, and I'd test it first, because it will pit some surfaces
Apparently Loctite makes it, saw it on their site (nm)girchygirchy

I used to use a product called Green Magic (I think was the name). Worked unbelievably well. I restored an old, old pair of ice skate blades with this stuff, and they looked brand new. Not sure if it is still produced, but I'd check with a local hardware store first as opposed to the big box boys.
