Schwinn typhoon headset ?creepy1

I have an old schwinn typhoon and I know the headset is one inch but this one inch isn't the modern one inch. My question is what is the exact size and what manufacturers produce a headset that will fit an old bike such as this one?
Thanks

... The cruiser started life as a Typhoon. When CyclArt refinished it a couple of years ago, they noticed my headset was trashed. They happened to have a box full of original-type NOS headsets for it, and installed a new one for me, clearing up a long-standing handling problem.

I suspect they still have some. Check cyclart.com.

I couldn't tell you the exact size, but it was pretty standard on American bikes at the time, and you should be able to get one that fits with little problem -- your LBS should be able to order them if they don't carry them. Schwinn parts are, however, better quality.
Ah-HA! Found 'em ...Humma Hah

Let's see if this link works. If not, log onto cyclart.com, select cyclmart, open the catalog and browse for the BB/headset section, open BB, and look for Schwinn. The box is a little dusty, but they're NOS for your bike.
