Just ordered some stuff for my 1980 Bianchi. Never ordered from Europe before. Aside from outrageous shipping charges, anyone have any issues with them? Thanks.

Here's their website: http://www.renaissance-cycles.com/

I've heard good stuff. I just ordered a NOS Colnago steel fork for my Pista from him. Shipping might take awhile though. I sell old records for a living and have noticed air-mail from most of Euorpe (aside from the UK) is a lot slower to us than going the other way. What model '80 Bianchi do you have? I had a Superleggrera for awhile that was a pretty nice ride.

Bianchi Rekord 748. It was sort of the second best Bianchi racing bike at the time.

I guess I won't be in a hurry. Ordered some quill pedals and old style leather shoes, and a few odds and ends to restore to old specs. I'll post a photo when done.

There's lots of that stuff availble right here in the states. Just last week there was a few people selling NOS Detto's etc. (not that I'd ever go back!) The guy who runs Renaissance posts there, and sometimes offers better prices to other list members. It's pretty interesting most of the time and a great source for info and parts (and some nerdy bickering). The cut-off is 1983 so your Rekord qualifies as an "on-topic" bike. Just opt to recieve the list in "digest" form, or you will be bombarded by emails all day.

For this bike, I'm going all out, with the exception of wearing a helmet and using clincher rims. Wool, white socks, string backs... Just for fun and an occasional brevet.

I found my old one in the attic the other day. Sigh. What a work of art.
I would, but not ok for most events... nmDougSloan
