|Anyone know where I can find some circa 1980 Campy "drillium" brake levers and gum (good condition) hoods? Prefer NOS or excellent used condition. This if for my 1980 Bianchi Rekord 748. I wanted these at the time, but couldn't afford them then.
Also, a few months after I bought this bike in 1980, the stock head set was trashed. I then replaced it with a Shimano with the weird star shaped lock nuts. Anyone know of a source for NOS threaded headsets, like a Campy? (Or should I just us a new Campy threaded?)

|Try http://www.renaissance-cycles.com/ for the Brake stuff. I know they have NOS GS and SR drilled levers. If you can come up with a pair of housings. Vintage Velos has NOS "shield" logo gum hoods for about $50 (really hard to find good used ones.) Join the CR
mailing list http://www.classicrendezvous.com/main.htm as lots of those folks have these parts, and offer them for sale to the list members before ebay, etc. I got my NOS hoods off there for a really good price.
The modern Campy Chorus threaded headset is really nice looking and looks fine on a classic bike. High quality as well, better than their threadless stuff.
|thanks, both, btw||DougSloan|

|Thanks. I decided to stick with the standard levers and change some other parts, like quill pedals and straps, old leather shoes, etc. Appreciate the help.|| |
