DAVID Components?(2 posts)

DAVID Components?LC

I found a old bike that am restoring into a single speed that has no decals or way to identify it that I know of. All the components say DAVID on them, but I can't even find anywhere that says anything about DAVID components. It has forward facing horizontal rear dropouts and no rear deraileur hanger, but the rear deraileur has a funky way to attach to the dropout. The frame is lugged steel and the fork is chromed halfway up. The shifters which also say DAVID are clamped to the stem, but the rear wheel was missing so I don't know how many speeds it was. The serial number is stamped into the rear dropout.

Coincidentally, I happened to be reading an old article today which made this reference, "Some very famous track frame makers such as the "David".......". It's an undated article that looks like was from a local club publication of some kind. I absolutely don't know anything else. Good luck!
