Lugged Steel Frame--weight?(3 posts)

Lugged Steel Frame--weight?Matno

I've got a Schwinn SuperSport frame that originally came with all Shimano 600 components (late 80's, early 90's, pre-Ultegra). It's Columbus "Tenax" tubing and a 56cm frame. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how much this frame weighs? A ball-park figure for similar frames would be okay too. Thanks.

My lugged steel '74 Paramount, Reynolds 531 tubing, half-chromed and chrome lugs, with the fork and a Shimino BB spindle, weighed in at around 3.4 kg.

I'm guessing about 6 lbs. for the frame and fork. If you have a good bathroom scale, get on it holding the frame then subtract your weight. Not real accurate but will get you a ballpark figure.
