I have a 80's era Bianchi and am contemplating having the frame refinished on it. I would like to know what quality the frame is.

The materials tag on it reads

COLUMBUS
Tubi Speciali Rinforzati
Acciaio CrMo
CROMOR
Doppio Spessore

Is it worthwhile to refinish this frameset? Is it a good quality steel?

Thanks for the help

its good quality, works well, is a little heavier than the better stuff from the same era ...... but its not desirable and probably never will be.

if it fits and is straight i would happily ride it and enjoy it .... but to go to the expense of restoring it or repainting it is something i wouldnt consider unless it has significant sentimental value.

its not bad stuff but its not brilliant either - its good and considered entry level in terms of premium tubing used on quality frames. as its a popular italian frame manuf. it should always carry a little higher premium if you plan on selling it.
