I wanted to share these with you. I went up to Lake Tahoe, they were having a vintage BOAT show. These you have got to see. I thought you all might appreciate them here. I didn't want to raise any hackles on the general board.
Oh man, these are sooooo cool!rwbadley

Really too many pretty ones. These vintage beauties are out of my price range tho'.

Some of these date back to 1915. Some were very fast racers in their day.

I ran out of space, so I missed taking shots of these when they fired up and head out (Da--) Under way the sound was amazing.

So a bunch of them head out onto the lake. We watched as the 'FAST' one cruised out. It is 1998, 800 horsepower eight cylinder. Named ALPHA Z. It gets out a ways, and one of the other quite fast older boats comes alongside.

Now, they are both going about 50-60 mph. The whole crowd watches as ALPHA Z opens a little distance. They go into a turn, slower boat on inside, the Alpha keeps up through the turn. They just did a 180 on the lake, ALpha was on the outside, and they are still even!!!

The crowd is starting to go nuts. They are now even and at about 60 mph. We suddenly see a rooster tail off the rear of ALPHA, and hear a roar. ALPHA is now pulling away, it is NOT walking away, it is RUNNING away!! ALPHA dropped the other boat. Just left it, like it was dead in the water. ALPHA is hitting about 100mph now.

The crowd is going BONKERS! What a sight this was. As one gearhead to another, I have to tell you this was the most exciting thing of that nature I have ever seen.

If you are ever able to make it to Lake Tahoe in August, GO! GO to the Concours d'Elegance!! (the female population were quite elegant as well!) I really encourage you to be there next year!!
