Information sought on rideLone Gunman

I heard and saw a blurb on the tellie the other day. It seems there is a bike ride being organized for Sept 9,10,11 and is scheduled to go from NYC to Wash DC, about 279 miles. The speaker/promotor was being interviewed and he hoped to have about 3000 riders, sort of a first responder/policeman/fireman ride. The speaker went on to say it was not exclusive to the aforementioned people. I checked what I thought was the website and found WWF silliness stuff, so I am wondering if anyone else has info? Is this ride flat enough to do by fixed gear?? Perhaps the fix/SS crowd could unite for the cause?? Just sounded like a cool ride to do, I have organized my efforts to do the LAF ride 3 times, this would be a piece of cake.

would be shake-out just in time for that deal. I was going to do the "Flattest Century on the East Coast" in Providence around that time. This sounds even more, more funner

So if you were at the 99, did you attend the house party? Did you get in the group photo, if so I am behind Lance's left shoulder in the light plaid shirt shirt, 'tis I, the Lone Gunman. Also in the first row is US World Cup Soccer member Brian McBride, from left to right, he is #2 in the front row sitting on the floor.

I didn't get in the photo. I'll look at the picture of the 99 party.
