stickers: how to get rid of them?(4 posts)

stickers: how to get rid of them?Djudd
Jun 20, 2002 9:55 AM
the Schwinn I'm trying to renovate came with three license stickers. Initially I thought I could live with them, but the more I look at them the more obnoxious they get. Is there anyway short of repainting to get these things off. They take away from the beauty of the frame. The original downtube decals are barely noticeable because of them.

thanks

If you have a heat gun (like a heavy-duty hair dryer), that should do it. Apply it gently so you don't soften the paint. If you don't, maybe a hair dryer will work. Otherwise, try lifting the corners and squirting WD-40 or spray deodorant under there. Sometimes that dissolves the adhesive.
