just guessing by the hairdos and the shoes and clothes. I can't get a good look at a bike. The size of the pile is amazing. Was everyone looking away and just ran into it?

Great picture!!!

The Alpilatte-Olmo-Cierre jersey on the right is from the 1985 season (ref.www.france-cyclisme.com). Same goes for the Malvor-Bottecchia-Vaporella jersey in the center, and the Gis-Trentino Vacanze jersey in the upper left. I sold these jerseys, so I should know.

Lycra shorts didn't appear in numbers until about 1980, and those synthetic jerseys came along about 1983.

I'm thinking late 1970s judging by the jerseys but hard to say.

Btw GrahamWatson.com has a number of free wallpapers including the famous 1988 TdF shot of the peloton and the field of sunflowers. (My current one). Also a cool shot from what looks to be a mid80s Giro mountain climb. A few riders still have exposed brake cables and toe clips.
