I bought my Ciocc SL in '84. It was the second model down - they already had on the market their top frame, with SLX tubing and "smoked" chrome on fork and stays. So SLX has been around since at least '84.
i gotta go with you on that one...Spirito

as even i in australia remeber seeing some frames in 85/6 with slx tubing. knowing that we were a small market and almost always a season behind for euro frames to be offered i would thing late 84 would have been when slx was introduced.

i still rmember the colnago with the lattice criss-cross paint fades that i saw the slx on. the joy of being invited by the shop owner to stick my finger in the seat tube and into the top tube to feel the reinforced tubing i still think was something very sexual....isnt it?
was that the begining of a long relationship?colker
