Here's a link to my journal for this weekend's race. This was the first stage race I've done in my two year career and I had a great time.

For those of you who didn't do this race and live near Ohio I would definitley put it on your calendar for next year. Savage Hill did an excellent job organizing it.

That was an awesome race report. Great teamwork also. Our team is so disjointed and few in number that there is no concept of teamwork. Kind of envious of those that have it.

I plan on doing a stage race or 2 next year. Was going to this year at the end of Sept. but my fitness isn't there. Did you feel like you bumped your fitness up a notch after doing the race? Do any training differently for this? Any advice for the stage-race-wannabe?

Great effort on what seemed like some difficult stages!

I can definitely notice a performance improvement after doing this race. I took 2 days off after getting back and went out on a ride yesterday expecting my legs to be tired and stiff, but actually I felt great after a few miles in.

As for training, I didn't do anything different leading up to the race. I took it easy a few days before and didn't ride at all the day before the race.

...and then, my teammate's back injury flared up, and I ended up racing in Canada and breaking my collarbone. but, it's on the calendar for next year (if I don't do Green Mountain).
