When a friend gives you a Powertap...noveread

So, I am ambling home after the Sunday Coffee ride and pass the house of a buddy who rides with us on the Thursday hammer-fest (and kills us all). He was outside, so I pulled in to see how he was doing (hernia surgery recently). After some chit-chat he asked if I was still interested in a Powertap. Uh, YES!! So he says "hold on" goes into his garage, pulls down a wheel built with a Powertap, then goes inside and comes out with the computer and instruction manual. "Here." he says.

Uh "THANKS!" :)

So, now I have a Powertap to train with! What to do? I have not found a local coach yet so until I do, I need some direction. What should I do? Can any of you point me to some good info on how to train with power? Keep in mind that the season here is over. I'll just be screwing around on the bike before starting a winter program in November, but I'd like to learn how to use the Powertap and get the most out of it prior to starting winter trianing.

Thanks!

also the archives of the wattage mailing list at topica.com

Did you ask your friend how he was using the power tap?
