|How many days should you taper before a big ending race?||niteschaos|

|I have been thrown off by moving and starting a new job, so the past 2 weeks I haven't ridden as much or as intensly as I have for the past 3 months. I was scheduled to have an intense workout on Tuesday (completed) and Thursday, but I'm wondering if I should play it conservatively and just do recovery rides the rest of the week until my race on Saturday. Friday is my travel day, so I won't have much time to do more than just a warm-up. The race on Saturday is my season ender, so I don't want my legs to be too tired for it, but I don't wanna go in soft either. Should I just do a recovery ride today or should I try to get one last workout in before my season ender?
-background: Cat 4 averaging 120 miles a week for the past 3 months. Ride every day but Sunday and does intense workouts on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

|Racing Saturday you should have rode hard yesterday, recover Thursday and do a medium day Friday. even if you don't have time on Friday make sure you get a couple of hard efforts in.|| |
