|Hello. I just got back from doing another Crit. this past weekend that was a part of a Ominum. I arrived to race site with some good time to get a good warm-up. Needless to say that I have did a Crit. about 2 month ago on the same course. I thought I would have better result. I had somewhat better results. Got a better position at the start of the crit. ,and had a much better start. I manage to snag a prime in my Cat5 crit. I also beat a few people who finish behind me or(DNF) the Crit. Ithink that the some of the Cat5 crit racer were tired from doing 5 day of crit racing in 5 different cities. My question is what type of prime is it when they single out one racer? I am just curious if you could tell me. Iwould appreciate it. Anyway I manage to snag a pair of free socks for doing a 2:12 lap. I was surpised that I won the prime that was put on me. I finish 28 out of 30+ Cat 5 racer . Getting better .

|FBM...usually they won't single out one rider for a prime. I noticed they did it in the Cat. 5 race and the Junior race for the younger kids. I think it was just an incentive to make you ride faster and give you incentive not to quit. It's common to have a "field prime" if someone is off the front. It makes the field work for a lap or two and not quit racing. In the Pro's race, primes can make things very interesting. I understand that of the 60 Pro/1/2's that started Saturday night in Concord only about 20 finished.
Anyway, you got a free pair of socks! All I got for my money was a swift beating by the Fuji girls.

|Genesis is a team out of Atlanta Georgia. http://www.fultonflyers.org Candice Blickem likes to smoke the girls in the local crits, but she gets her butt kicked when she goes to the NRC races. She's only about 23 or 24, so she is still a developing rider.|

Late kick wins men's race; Blickem wins women's pro criterium
By Charles Shepard
In the women's race, Blickem, of the Genesis Scuba team, opened up a 12-second lead at one point, and finished nine seconds faster than Tina Mayolo-Pic (Diet Rite, 55:50.4). Blickem, 23, of Albuquerque, N.M., is a time trial specialist, meaning her training allows her to go faster longer. ''It's easy for me (to hold a break),'' Blickem said. ''It's easy for me to be in front by myself because I don't have to follow any wheels. Once the group slowed down and got tired after the primes, I decided to go.''
The win came in just her second try at Twilight. Blickem finished eighth last year riding for a small cycle shop in Greensboro, N.C.
