|A time trial from Hell||MR_GRUMPY|

|It was hot and humid with a 10 mph tailwind this Sunday, for a 40K tt out by Moline. I knew that I had a tailwind, but I was rolling a pretty good gear. I made my turnaround, and started to head back west, when I noticed that the sky had turned black. The wind picked up to about 25 mph into my face, and the blackness got closer and closer. When it hit, the wind picked up to 35 with gusts of 50+. At first, the rain felt like hail, but it soon turned into a driving downpour that limited vision to 50 feet. Cars slowed to 25 mph, and at times, I had a hard time going 10 mph. About a mile from the finish, the wind speed dropped to 15-20 mph, and I was able to cross the line at 20 mph.
There were a few riders that got off their bikes, and at least one who got down in a ditch when the lightning got too close.
Is it too much to ask for a 72 deg day with no wind ?
