Week off from training: head right back, or ease into it?bill

I was in Vail, CO last week with the folks. Rented a MTB, went up the mountain twice (lots of heavy breathing, no lactic buildup -- weird!). Now that I'm back, I need to get ready for a three-day race on Aug. 1,2, 3, so I kind of need to do some work.
My usual Tuesday is cruise intervals -- about 3-4x6 min's of threshold work. Should I take it a little easier, work up to it, or head right into intervals? I'm thinking ease a little, but not sure if (a) I'm just being lazy or (b) I have the luxury of easing.

You haven't lost much, so I'd go for the intervals and see how they feel. You'll know right away whether to back off a bit for a few days.
