In a TT,is your # recorded at the turnaround?STEELYeyed

I did a TT last week and saw a dude turn around early, he didn't know that anyone saw him. I didn't say anything because I didn't know if he was having problems and packing it in or if he was trying to cheat. It wouldn't be any different than doping or corking a baseball bat, I guess. If a rider gets isolated from the officials and other riders, how could you proove that he turned early?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.MR_GRUMPY

If someone wants to cheat in a race, it's a pretty sad statement. There is one rider that I race against, that has been caught twice, sitting out a lap in a RR. He still races, but is the butt of just about every joke that anybody tells. When he finishes a crit, there is at least one rider that asks him " So ___ , did you finish all the laps."
Something like this will follow him until he finally quits.

and even if your number was written down, they would have to take the extra step of verifying your number with the results list. For the most part, promoters do write down the numbers to prevent cheating.

Amazingly, I was working the turnaround for a 40K TT and a rider turned about 10 meters in front of the cone in full view of me. Of course I got his number and he was DQ'd, but I never found out what he was possible thinking.

I was actually writing down #'s in the one I volunteered for, so I know it is done at some of them.
