Can't sleep before a raceupandcomer

Does anyone have any tips on falling asleep the night before a race? I'm usually nervous about getting enough sleep the night before a race and thus try hard to fall asleep. Of course the harder I try the later it becomes before I actually fall asleep. Any suggestions?

It's like counting sheep, exept you really have something to count. Assume you've done all the regular things to help get to sleep. Having all your equipment and gear well-organized the night before the night before helps with relaxation. Also, accept that you will be nervous and have some trouble, and that it won't affect your performance for the race. Prolonged sleep shortage will cause problems, but not one night of too little sleep.
