Hey NCVC riders,

Just glad that you guys didn't race this weekend the way the previous posts say you do. Damn you, though. For one, edging me out in the end of the sprint on the first day. Then chasing me down at the end of the road race.

They were strong as individuals, but they left out their GC guy from the break on Sunday, and so they lost the overall. I made the mistake of marking him so I missed it too.

I think your race, and the Main Line Bikyle rider's were good examples of what someone without a team can do in a race and truly an inspiration.

You were the wheel I was trying to watch both days. Java-Shack Lanterne Rouge? Your advice the first day calmed me down quite a bit. So thanks.

On Sunday I was torn not knowing what I had to do to survive versus what I should be doing teamwise so I ended up not really helping much, and barely surviving. All of those NCVCs looked intimidating. Kissena and Wilmington Velocity showed what could be done with just a few teamates.

I would definately do this race again though. You just don't see any other races that offer Cat4 & 5s such an opportunity in terms of safety and length of the race.

You're welcome. That was me. One of the reasons I came back to racing this year was to instruct and inspire others. I found out that racing is helping me to be a better person, more patient and forgiving of others. I've also gotten in better shape...I used to be a cat 3 and even won a cat three race in a field sprint, I quit for 8 years because of two separate, bad accidents, one car one bike. So, I'm starting over physically and mentally too, as racing has changed. I'd like to be a cat two one of these days.
