Congrats on your finish, time to upgrade?

It was kind of frustrating, I was leading the way up the first hill and as soon as the trail went down I got caught. Then 3 of us worked togther to the top of Hurrah with nobody else insight, I wasn't really working that hard, but as soon as we hit the descent I got dropped for good. Throw in a couple of bad lines, a dropped chain, a twisted ankle, a flat tire and Jacob's ladder and I was happy to finish in one piece in 14th place.

Thanks, I did upgrade right after the race! Next goal is to learn how to road race!

Even with all your bad luck you still got a really good result for your first race, especially doing Sport; there are some fast dudes in your age cat. You should definitely do it again (only if you had fun of course!) But of course you need to work on your handling skills, and then you will be really good because you already have the fitness from all your road experience.

Quite a bit different from the road though even in terms of fitness eh? You mostly just hammer along at LT the whole time and always try to find the fastest line. A lot different from all the anaerobic jumps on the road that I still have to get used too.

I still trying to decide if it was good training. It was fun. I think I need a bike that's a little quicker handling, more like a road bike. My buddy John won the Sport 19-24, he's going to be hammering in the Roubaix this weekend, he's pretty fit. If he goes to the next mtb race I may go with him, it's supposed to be less technical.

I'll be hammering with him at the Roubaix, and he'll probably beat me again! Tell him he needs to upgrade!
