Watt an improvement, props for Sherpa.triple shot espresso

I had my LT tested by Boulder Sports medicine back in January to get a baseline for training. I was pushing 255 watts at LT, LT was 172. Sherpa's been directing my training since December and I attirbute any improvement to that, I've worked hard in preseason in the past but maybe not smart. I got my LT retested yesterday and the good news is that at all the increasing wattage intervals my HR was about 6 beats lower and at LT I was pushing 275 big watts at the same body weight. Thanks Sherpa!

I just did a LT test for the first time myself. Still not sure what it all means, I plan to do one again late summer. My LT was 183 bpm at 240 watts. Hopefully next time (after some actual training and racing) my wattage is higher for the same LT also.
his programs are amazing, aren't they?lonefrontranger

I am seeing a similar increase in power, although I've not got the testing done to validate. I am riding stronger than ever though and my breakthrough last week proves I'm coming off the volume cycle well. I can merely look at my average speed on TT intervals and tell I'm riding a good 2 miles an hour faster, even when I feel tired.

I've seen Pack Meat recently, also a Sherpa disciple, and he's practically *half* the man he used to be. By this I mean, he looks GOOD.

Assuming it's not snowing/raining tomorrow, I have a date with that wonderful scooter of his - yeah baby!
Fancy showing us a few weeks worth?LeGrimper

Hey Guys

Good news on the improvement front.

Cant give you any definite stats as I havent had a lab test in some time. I ride a long 8km hill at perceived LT, around 173-177 (about 4mmol) and work out wattage from there which is steadily improving checks in at 320 watts at the moment and cheaper than the lab.

LFR et al would Sherp mind you posting 4 weeks worth of training so we could have a look at the sort of training you are doing, structure etc. Im not asking for the full macro or all his secrets but it would be interesting to see his vision. I know you guys are being worked hard. Anyway what you are doing for your specific races is of little help to the rest of us unless we want to be peaking for a race 1000s of kms away.

I have a coaching licence for interest reasons and access to two of the top-level coaches in the country by default so it would be interesting to compare approaches.

Keep up all the good work. May the wins keep flowing.

The Sherpa is pretty young and is working hard at getting established. It's an uphill battle in this area if you don't have a front-page name like JV. for these and a host of other reasons he's concerned that this stuff stays confidential. All I can say is that it's both harder and way different from anything I've done in the past. There's a mix of old school and new school. I can put you in touch with him if you're interested in checking in directly.

But that's a good way to discribe it, a good mix of old and new school. It's really the way the schedule is laid out that makes the difference. Unfortunately for monetary reasons I can't work with him for a while, I'm hoping that after things open up I can work with him again.

For a couple of reasons, one being the Sherps prodding, last fall I changed my login to Triple shot espresso from, drum roll please, Pack Meat.

Everybody has been saying that i look much thinner, I am about 10 lbs lighter and need to go another 5. I didn't realize I looked as chunky monkey as I did, why didn't anybody say anything? And thanks, right back at'cha.
