|The former triathlete from Idaho, that is..
Last weekend here in Boise, Kristin entered the men's P/1/2/3 race like she occasionally does when she's in the area. The race was very fast, the field large and it was windy as is usual.
At a particularly difficult moment early on in the race, she took off with 3 other strong riders. After a short bit of effective blocking (I took advantage of the breather, heh=), we took off again in earnest. From what I hear, the break fragmented with a ways to go.
Given our pace, I'm impressed that she stayed off the front of a strong field to finish 3rd. She's relatively new to road racing, and I think she just might become a major player on the women's scene in the near future. We shall see I guess.
Anyhow, just thought she deserved some props.. on her own merits, instead of her name. =)
