They have some mad clubs down there. You start out with about 30 to 40 riders and as the ride progresses you get more and more people. Most of the rides I got in on were fairly easy. However, I showed up for one ride that No-sprint referred to as "a ride for the seriously unemployed," and I got my candy coated ass handed to me on a platter as we flew up Chevy Chase Blvd. This was an LA Wheelmen ride by the way in Burbank. There was a 2 time nat. champ there and a few pro's logging some quality miles. I have to admit that my Northern legs were not ready for that kind of intensity. I'll have to remeber not to go with the first attack at the bottom of the hill when you have no idea how long or how steep the hill is going to get.

And in case you were wondering, No_sprint seems to be a pretty good rider. We did an easy ride, but he looked very comfortable in the saddle and had a pretty supple pedal stroke. His bike is beautiful too. He rides an awesome Ciocc. The bike is a work of art and loaded with goodies.

I actually do it 2 times a and Saturdays.
But there is very little flying, more like crawling.

Does the group go up to the Girls school at the top of that Hill? My friend does that ride, but I, furtunately have the excuse of being employed!

Very cool - Glad you had fun in our neighborhood.

I believe we topped out. I can't really say where we were as my eyes were bleeding. I was riding little circles up and down the road to recover and loked over and everyone was gone! I had no idea how to get back to my car so I had to chase like Savoldelli down the hill to get back on!

We'll have to hook up and ride next time I'm down. Maybe we could go do the SIMI ride. I'm told that's hairball.

Good to meet and ride with ya Allervite. Next time you're around, let me know.

As for the Simi ride, all cats do it, 2s get shelled from the lead groups, 4s struggle to finish. That is serious pro practice. That'll make your Wed. ride pale. :)
