Why don't they allow sleevless jerseys? I forget the reason, i think there was one.

For the same reason you used to have to wear white socks, not colored socks, and not "no socks." Because it's a rule, and around here, smart people follow the rules. Questions?

the uscf figures somebody might show up with a sleeveless jersey (or white socks, a jersey that is not a "club team", etc....) and try to race. by having these rules they can keep the sport from growing and maybe prevent one more cat 5 rider from giving our great sport a chance?
to prevent rapid degeneration to halter tops and hot pants (nm)shirt

After the start just roll your sleeves up, might help to cut the elastic too. If you want to be real Euro roll your shorts too. You'll look just like Cipo' at the Giro.

Also we can not forget another reason. Cycling as far as rules goes is very conservative, almost Victorian in nature, so it should not be suprising that even sock color is controlled to the point of anal retentiveness.
