Tubulars or Clinchers for racing wheelsetskip work to ride
Jan 19, 2003 9:17 PM
Any opinions on what rims to use for my next race wheelset. That is what they'll be race wheels - road races, crits, and the ocassional time trial.

I am not big on changing tires just becasue blahblah magzine said they were a great crit tire, etc...

From a cost and performance standpoint are the tubes worth it? - never had a pair to try?.
Sorry for the redunancy - I found some similar postingsskip work to ride

I'm in your same situation. I was trying to decide on what my next set of wheels were to be. I went with tubulars just because a lot of people say that they are superior in performance. I chose Tufo Elite tires. They just came out not too long ago. They are 440 tpi 240 grams and 23 mm. They also have a sealant that you can buy to put into the tire that is supposed to work very well against punctures. I just odered everything so I haven't had a chance to try any of it. Good luck
