Just picked up the "Velotron" trainer for this winter.MerlinMan

This is the new Velotron at www.velotron.com. It has a 55lb fly wheel, hooks up to your pc and generates up to 2000 watts of resistance.
I'm hoping some other racers will spring for this trainer as it can be raced over the net against other individuals. It has laboratory grade accuracy and great 3d software. I know its expensive, but here in Michigan, it makes the winters more appealing. I can just throw a dvd in my computer and spin away. I used to do rollers during the winter but they are so loud that it is difficult to hear anything over the whirring noise. This unit is silent. You can also race yourself against a previous ride you performed. It has more bells and whistles than anyone needs. It also tells you the power output of each leg. Well you get the idea.......

It looks like it might even accept another frame onto the set-up. Is that right?

Yep, you can have custom frames put on. Its around $5000 - but right now there knocking off $500 for the use of their beta software.
