are you up for a 'cross ride anytime soon? I will be getting back out on the dirt by the end of the week, and am looking forward do doing a ~2-hour 'cross ride this weekend.

I'm bummed I didn't get to see your fine performance on Sunday, because I was driving sweep. John said you were flying.

One more third or better place finish and you can upgrade right?

After Sunday I have 5pts towards the 25pts needed to upgrade to 2s. That's if Koppenburg Circuit is a qualifying race which is doubtful. I still have 0 BAR points this season, and that's after 35 races. That's pretty lame.

Any RR is a qualifying race. The only ones that don't qualify are hillclimbs. Look up the points system on the ACA rules.

She indicated that because of the way they weight stage races, my results at Platte Bridge alone (despite the fact it's a USCF event) qualified me for upgrade.

This weekend is pretty bad for me but anytime afterwards will be fine for a cross ride. I'm trying to organize some weeknight informal cross training races in Sept in prep for cross season. They'll most likely be south of Denver so that probably won't work for you.

Speaking of Sunday, I remember there were a bunch of guys screaming in Spanish on the top of the climb. It felt pretty cool although I have no idea what they were saying. Reminded me of the first road stage at Platte Bridge when I was at the front and my friend and his teammate started speaking in fluent French. I thought that was really cool and "Euro" until moments later I missed the first echelon and was in the gutter looking for shelter.

I know it's not easy for you to get west after work but RRV is doing cross rides in Bear Creek park every Wednesday night at 6. You know Dennis Lane right?

Is it open to everyone or is it a RRV thing? That would be very cool and I'd definitely show up. Dennis Lane gave me a hard time last year in the 4s...a very hard time.

Is it going on now? Email me at craigwu@hotmail.com with the details.
