Sizing for Giant TCR frame..... Please Helpcycleforever

I have a dilemma maybe someone can help me with I'm not sure which frame size I need. I'm 5'9" with an 80cm inseam, 64cm torso and my over all reach is 65cm. On the Giant website if I go with the small the stem length would be 108-120mm or the med frame it would be 88-105. I've always heard that a longer stem will handle better than a shorter one. A couple years ago I was fitted for a medium TCR with a 90mm stem which I felt was just to short.

Thanks,
Eric

Although you are right on the edge between the two frame sizes, I think you would probably fit better on the medium.

At 5' 9" and 31.5" inseam you have a medium to slightly shortish leg length and a slightly long torso. The small would probably force you into a 130mm or perhaps even a 140mm stem. That's totally useable but not the best fit unless you are a hardcore racer type.

FWIW: I'm 5'8" with a 32" inseam and prefer my small TCR over my medium TCR. On my medium I had to use a 10cm stem which I felt made the bike handle too slowly. For me, an ideal stem length would be 12-13cm.

You might want to look elsewhere for a frame with more sizes. ????

Oh, the TCR is a very nice frame. Stiff, light, and pretty comfy.

short stem length ===> quick steering.
