|Anyone doing the Superior race? I was looking at trying it as my first race to see how everything goes. I see they only have a CAT 4 category. Any suggestions on what to be on the lookout for?|

|Unless you are a lady, you can't ride a Cat 4 race as your first race. The reason that Cat 5 is required is to build experience in the pack to make the Cat 4 races safer. Of course it doesn't make the Cat 5 races very safe, but you can't plese everyone.|

|Okay then. It looks like Cat 4 is my only option then. Any of you raced this Superior course before? Yes I know about the Cat distinctions I just thought it was odd that there was no Cat 5.|

|I raced it last year. It's a hard course but it should be a good first race. There is a hard hill up to the S/F line and then about 3/4 mile of down hill, don't overlap wheels at 35 mph. Wide corners and the field should be rather mellow considering it seems like everybody is winding down their seasons.

|Okay. Thanks for the tip. I have ridden the Flats around there but not where the course is going. Just trying to get some experience under my belt and get ready to hit it full time next year.|

|Did you do it while on a skydiving-cum-polo tour of Europe, after violently knocking heads with the Compte de Bourbon y Bourbon midjump, and briefly losing consciousness, then landing adjacent to the bar at Club 55 St. Tropez, only to become inebriated (and maybe a little too high) and subsequently TRIP while walking to the launch to be taken to the yacht of a well-known industrialist for something that was promised to be a little more than party, but nothing so vulgar as an orgy? Ha, we all laughed and laughed. Until the drugs wore off.
(I did it mtn biking)(at Matthews Winters 1991).
