|What are sure signs of overtraining?||JSchneb|

|I was wondering what the tell-tail signs of overtraining are. The reason that I ask is that I'm having a hard time distinguishing between short-term fatigue an full-blown overtraining. Some days I feel really tired, but other days I feel great. Today I feel like crap (Resting HR about 10 bpm above normal, muscle aches in my neck, groggy). I know that I didn't drink enough and it was really hot during my ride yesterday, so maybe I got dehydrated and I'm still feeling the effects. Last week was an R&R week, and my only intensity was a circuit race Friday Night (I went all-out). Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

|is when you can't stand the thought of going out to train on your road bike. Another sign is if you aren't sleeping well.
If you're mentally still "bright" and happy to be riding, it may just be dehydration as you guessed.

|I didn't ride at all yesterday, but I felt tired on this morning's ride and I couldn't get my HR up to my LT no matter how hard I pushed. I'm definately feeling a little tired, but my motivation is still pretty good. Maybe I need a couple of days of complete rest off the bike...|| |
