|If you taped the NYC crit coverage, check Kirk Albers out for size, he's something like 6'6" and stands out like a sore thumb in that bunch. He's a longtime buddy of mine, formerly from the Midwest. He rides for Jelly Belly and finished 13th at the NYC. I told my SO when I was watching the TV coverage that I just knew it was Kirk because his back is several inches higher (and wider) than everyone else's in the field. Sure enough, we saw him in the results and he confirmed to us via e-mail that the finishing sprint was as insane as it looked :) He's a criterium demon, despite what would seem to be a major center of gravity disadvantage.
My first good cycling mentor was 6'4" and also a crit maniac. He used to tell me that small riders have the advantage of stability, big guys have the advantage of sheer intimidation factor, so it all works out in the end.
