|So somehow I have a cold in the middle of summer (yes I know it's a virus and not caused by temp) I've had it for about 7 days and have been trainin thru it. Been doing mostly easy - moderate rides and feel fine while riding. Getting enough rest at night, staying hydrated.....etc
Today is a pretty good group hills ride (read anaerobic testosterone fest) and wondering if I should put my body thru it while sick. I'm feeling better than I did a few days ago, but the cough is still hanging on.
Any docs or other gluttons for punishment out there?

|well if the group is so competitive I would not go for it. Because your immnue system isnt doing its best in these days. Patience my dear friend. Or you will be sick for longer and you dont want that. You are doing the right thing. Ride easy and/ or moderate to maintain your fitness level. So I would wait..|

|i hate when people come to work hacking and wheezing. if they'd just stay at home and recover then i'd probably never get sick.|

|Good points. I shud go for an easy ride on my own or catch up on a few things at home and get some rest.
(by the way no one at my office takes sick days unless your in the hospital, pretty lean staffwise)
How do you determine when you feel bad enough to 'call in sick'

|You dont wanna call in sick because you have to lose $ or, lose a sick/vacation day, but in coming in you usually make others there sick as well. Don't know a good answer to this unless you can telecommute.|| |
