|3 Day Stage Race this weekend...||Bigburlymtnman|

|Any suggestions on eating, sleeping, etc? I'm feeling great on the bike, so I think I can take the endurance part of it. But what should I do in terms of when I'm off the bike? There's an 8 mile time trial on Friday, road race on Saturday, and a criterium on Sunday. Any suggestions or tips would be helpful. By the way, it's the Giro di Coppi in Maryland, if anyone wanted to know. Thanks a bunch in advance.

|indication of your size you're probably not in for a fun time! But on the brightside the real bear of hill (Harp Hill) is not in the road race this year, there's still plenty of climbing but none that is overly long and steep, there are some long, shallow uphills and some short steep ones on the road race.
Well, sleep as much as possible, eat plenty but not so much that you overeat, drink as much fluid as possible. Which race are you doing?

|I'm doing the Omnium, which is a time trial, road race, and criterium. If you're asking which category, I'm a junior. So if you go there and you see a 15 year old in a Mercury uniform, come up and say hi, that'll be me. Thanks for the advice.

|Bike.com happens to have had a lot of good insight in their "Smart Training" section recently. And of course Excel is a primary sponsor of mine :-)
In the referenced article I've linked, Adam Myerson reiterates the same sermon I've preached over and over for the past few years to my own students and teammates. He has better editors, a prettier format, and you won't have to deal with the thread being truncated for length.

|I love that race and will also be racing it. It is hard as hell and a great time. Recovery each day is pretty important. I strongly recommend eating something high in carbohydrates within 30-60 minutes of finishing each stage. I have personally found this to be very helpful and a lot of studies confirm that after excercise the body is more receptive to absorbing nutrients.
