|No, not really. I went out to the state TT course and did a test run on Sunday. I came up with an average of 26.6 mph over about 6 miles of the course. (26.6 is about the same average I had for the whole course in last years race) This was with standard wheels, bike and tt bars. I rode pretty hard on Sat and could definitely feel that and the heat. I think I can pick up about 2 miles per hour if I am well rested and had some better wheels and train my butt off for the next 5 weeks. The course rolls, I don't think there is a flat section of road on the course. I'll let you know what the out come is.
Any advice on training will be appreciated. I plan on doing shorter weekly tts, muscle tension intervals, hill intervals, and VO2 max intervals. I hope my crit racing (read: already non-existant sprint) doesn't suffer to much.

|All I can say is that under the same conditions, 2 mph is huge. Others here can give you better advice on training, but I think the goal is to learn to pace and suffer and push up that threshold. I'd focus on 1 mile intervals at just above your anticipated race speed.
