cost effective ITT set up/are bar end shifters worth it?leftover crack

I'm a junior racer in the process of creating a cost effective (compared to a committed itt bar like an carbon X) time trial set up. I've currently got some profile carbon stryke clip ons and a profile air wing u bar set up to an 80mm, -45 degree mountain bike stem. The position is decently aero (i'm 5'6) but i want to take it to the next level. Are bar end shifters worth it? (over just using my STI levers on the u bar)

I wouldn't mess with changing to bar end shifters unless it's a dedicated time trial bike. They are convenient, but not necessary. They are less functional, also, when accellerating or climbing.
