i have my first road race saturday. i ve been training for this race using the programs in the the training bible. i've followed the program the best i could. i ve gotten a lot stronger and have been very pleased with the way i ve been riding this season.
anyhows... i went into the peak weeks and then the race week. i followed the programs by cutting back etc.
now here it is thursday and it feels like i havent dont any good training for like 2 weeks. i rode tues and wed and my legs felt week during both rides. it just doesnt feel like i am as strong as i was 3 weeks ago.
does this all sound "normal" when you are tapering and peaking etc?
i just hope i didnt do something wrong and end up doing really terrible at a race that i planned on doing really good at.
any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

|Don't do anything now, like go hit the hills and wear yourself out. Just spin a little bit and rest up. Maybe get a massage and stretch.
I you feel like you are starting to get out of shape, that means you are probably well rested.
Just go and see what happens. Then you'll know next time.

|Nothing to taxing, just something to open everything up. Do a couple of good jumps and some short tempo work. Don't let your legs burn.
Take note as to your performance relative to your preparation. You may have to tailor your training. The training bible is not a one size fits all thing. This is just one more thing that you will need to learn about racing.
