Did my 1st race Tues nite.zeeno

I entered the Tuesday nite series race Cat 5 at Portland International Raceway in oregon. What a rush. It was a blast. I stayed at the back of the pack and to the side for the majority of the race. About halfway through the last lap (total of 6 by 1.9mi) I started moving forward and then after the final turn into the finish line straight-away I sprinted in on the outside to finish 11th out of 26 cat 4 & 5s. Can't wait for next week. Glad I finally got the nerves up to do it.
Glad to see you finally did it!hrv

And, to top it off, you did way better than I have been doing, finishing at the back! And I had the same feelings after my first race - nothing but stoke. Keep it up and they'll have to move you up!

You might want to consider the Swan Island Classic this Saturday. Check it out on the OBRA site. I think it's supposed to be mellow as far as crits go, but possibly a notch above PIR for avg. speed/attacks. But I would imagine awesome experience.

Probably run into you soon,
hrv

Hey hrv, I was looking for you. I meet a guy named Brian who had New York Sub yellow and black shorts on, a yellow jersey and was from Hood River. I thought he was you at 1st but he said he new nothing about this website and he wasn't sure who you were.
Yes it was a lot of fun. A little hairy a few times when guys were moving around and in the corners.
Unforetunatly I can't make it to the Swan Island Crit Sat because I have to work weekends. Are you going? If you do have fun and be safe. Take Care Dude, zeeno

Life's not all about bike riding/racing, you know, and here in the Gorge, it's that time of year.

True, Brian doesn't know about this site. And he doesn't know who hrv is. So no suprise there. He said it was harder to keep up with the attacks/sprints this time.

Actually, with all the stuff to do around here recreationally, and trying to keep up with training, I sort of wore myself out. Have to re-build again. Must focus! Might have to miss this Tuesday but will be there for sure the next one. They get in your blood, don't they?

run into you soon,
Marty
