decide which one to do. If I did Iron Horse I'd do the XC race as well.

I don't know about Casper, but the IH RR costs $50 (XC costs $40) and now they will be hitting you up for a $10 late fee (each race!) and I think an additional $10 if you register onsite. For this you get a water bottle. They are the most expensive race on the mountain states cup (MTB) circuit. One final peeve, if you are female, the prizes are a joke. In the road race:
Pro,1,2 men - $2000
CAT3 men - $2000
Pro,1,2,3 women - $750!

Only the Tour de' Toona has comparable prize $ for men and women... It's funny, the reasoning promoters give for no parity in cash in women's racing is the #s, but the field sizes at 'Toona are enormous. If you build it they will come.

Casper (Platte Bridge SR) has great prize list parity IMO. Hopefully lots and lots of people show up - I'd love to be pack fodder for a great stage race that rewards the promoter for being brave like this. I hate to see promoters stuck paying women's fields deeper than show up.
See you thereBipedZed

I'm staying at the Parkway Plaza with a teammate. From what I can tell talking with other racers the field sizes will be fairly small. There were 70 or so 3s at Elam in Grand Junction, but sharing the same weekend with Iron Horse will definitely have an effect.

for the women's 3/4 race from BWCT. And I've heard a couple of the other women's teams talking about going, too. Hope they do show up. I really hate to see a promoter pay deep in women's races and then take a bath.

John and I, and 2 of his teammates and 2 of my teammates are all staying at the Parkway Plaza - hope they can deal with such a rowdy crowd! See you there.

I didn't realize the financial aspect of it when I posted. $60 for one race or four...hmmmmmmmm. The Iron Horse prize list for juniors is pathetic and even if I won, I wouldn't recoup $60. I would definately like to do Iron Horse because the course seems awesome but $60 and a ten hour drive is a bit much. How far is Casper from Boulder, by the way.
