Get a load of this!

3 weeks ago I bought my girlfriend a road bike for her birthday. Thought it would be nice to do some long base rides together.

2 weeks ago she came to a club race with me. They handicapped her as a Cat 4. At the end of the race she came in with the Cat 2 Men, sitting on the back managing to hang on over some 5km 7% hills.

This weekend was a Womens Tour. Lots of state talent there. Based on her TT time of 42 mins for 26 km (7th overall out of 97) they put her in as a Cat 2 women. She got 2nd in QOM, 4th in the Road Race and swept all the sprints and won the Crit.

She won Cat 2 decisively.

Im Dumb struck. Speechless.

She says she likes her new bike and racing is fun!

Does she have a sister? ;)

She must have some MTB or other endurance background I'm assuming. Impressive all the same.

Dontcha hate it when your girlfriend places higher than you? Welcome to my world buddy! But hey, it's much better than having a girlfriend who "just doesn't understand why that bike is so important you. I should be the most important thing in the world to you, not your bike. You don't love me!" Sound familiar? I hope not for your sake!

And shirt is right: you are obligated to breed and further the cycling gene pool. It is your duty as a cyclist. Make us proud!

thats awesome...im happy to hear it...i like it when the fred who doesnt know anything about bikes wins...but, i calculate the average of that timetrial to be only a bit over 20 mph..also isnt it against the rules to sit on the back of another race (she came in hanging on the back of the mens cat 2)

Thanks for all the good wishes and support guys.

The TT time is around 23 mph but that is over a hilly course and checks in around 200 watts for her relatively untrained LT.

The cat2 draft thing is because it was a club handicap where the lower cats are sent off earlier and the rest of the 1s and 2s chase and have to catch. For half the race she was therefore doing cat2 mens pace, once they had caught her group. That was my point, if a little unclear.

Thanks again guys and girls.

PS Not 100% sure about the altar thing or the breeding but we are working on it.
BREED!!! BREED!!! :P nmweiwentg

Just please tell me she doesn't look like Odessa Gunn. If she does and you get tired of her...

My wife would never understand
Just hope she don't dump you for a Postal Rider (nm)allervite
