|What are the rules about drafting riders from other categories - ie CAT3 hanging onto a group of passing CAT1,2s. What about women drafting men? Or are you only allowed to draft within the gender/CAT that you are racing. Thanks.|
|You cannot take pace off of another CAT. (nm)||allervite|

|You can race with other Cat's if they were grouped with you at the start. Some races have 4's and 5's together, some 2's and 3's, some Pros, 1's, and 2's, etc. I've always heard that you can race with your group, which is not necessarily limited to one category.|

|Just like jumping on to a passing vehicle. It is illegal and should lead to a rider being DQ'd.|

|off topic, but I'm doing hill intervals up at NCAR tonight. I don't have your e-mail at my new office but if you get this in time, give me a jingle!
Didn't you go to Fruita last weekend?

|Darn, I did my ridin' at 5:45 this morning, yes 5:45 AM (and it was darn cold!), 'cuz I have to go to a going away lunch at work.
I raced in Moab on Sun (in balmy 60 something deg weather) and had a great race. Since it was my 1st NORBA pro race my goal was not to finish last and I ended up finishing 6/12 (they list 2 DNFs but they were both still riding when I passed them). I also missed the start and started 1-1.5 min back so I was pretty psyched. I guess I made a good choice about not doing Carter! Sorry to hear about your bad luck with tires.
Are you going to the bike swap at CU this weekend? Maybe drive down together if you are.

|If it's on Saturday, I might take you up on that. It's going to be too crappy to ride outdoors from the latest weather update. I'm doing AST on Sunday.
If you want to get together and do NCAR repeats (Wed night) or sprints over at the tech center (Tues night), I get out of work at 5 and can meet you around 6. Keep in touch on that - I'm trying to convince one of my rookie teammates to join me too.
I knew if I typed Fruita it was going to be Moab, or vice versa. I couldn't recall. Good work on the TT after missing your start. When is your next pro/elite race?

|Im hoping for the best weather-wise and planning on doing the Louisville group ride on Sat morning (9AM) since Im not racing this weekend and hitting the swap after the ride. Let me know and I can call you on Fri night to set a time.
Next MTB race will be Battle of the Bear (or something like that) on Sat, May 4. I know you don't like long hills, so if you are wanting to try a MTB race, it is a good choice - very flat (1 or 2 little hills). It is being held at Bear Creek Lake Park, east of Morrison. As far as I know, the only road race that weekend is the Lookout Mtn hillclimb (TT).

|will look to hear from you and/or do the Louisville ride as well. Do you plan to ride with the gals at 8 or the men at 9?
I wish I could do the Battle of the Bear, but I had to sell my MTB to make my car payments last winter after I got laid off (3 months after buying a new car, wouldn't you know it). It was a choice of lesser evils. My choice was either sell my 4-year-old light but brutally stiff hardtail that was in need of a fair number of new parts, or sell one of my brand new ultra-nice road bikes that I'd had for all of six months, not really a choice in my mind.
My long-term goal is to turn this whole setback thing into a bonus by buying a Fuel 100 dually frame and building it up. I figure that for long, technical descents on the trails out here it'll be a huge improvement over the Klein on the kidney-beater factor, and light enough not to penalize me too much on the climbs.
I assume that the BTB isn't cross-bike-able?

|Ill prob go with the guys at 9 since it is race sim day for me. Usually a few women show and the Simple Green guys have been doing their own thing so its slowed down a bit.
I thought you might already have your Fuel but BTB just might be cross-bike-able. Ill ask someone who did it last year and get back to you.
