I tried to do a 8 mile TT that the training bible suggests doing.
when i got to the 4 mile turn around my time was 9:33. as i was heading back to my start point it started to T storm and i couldnt see and i was afraid that the vehicles wouldnt see me so i stopped and hit a side road and went home.
so anyhow i didnt get to check my avg speed but is 4 miles in 9:33 good or not? i did have a bit of a tailwind.

|If you're a Cat 1 racer, this is a mediocre time (just over 25 mph/40 kph). If this is your first TT, it's pretty good. "A bit of a tail wind" can be quite deceptive. Also, 4 miles is a pretty short distance, so it may not be representative. How about you do a full 10 miles, out and back, and then tell us all about it.|

|I have gone 30+ mph easy after over 50 miles of biking and 100 more from previous day because of a hugh tailwind. But when I turned and got the sidewind, it almost blew me over. I had to go less than 10 mph to stay up. At the time my normal 20 mile TT is about 19 mph. It's all depend on the wind.|| |
