Chronic Saddle Sore ,keeps coming back despite all efforts.titansprodigal

It's not the saddle, lack of riding, dirty shorts nor poor hygiene etc. I once lanced this saddle sore months ago and ever since then it comes back super easy and the only thing that will get rid of it is to stay off the bike and apply RX antibiotic ointment and cortisone cream. I've been riding the same saddle and bike for a few years, i wash my shorts after each ride in Hibiclense (a surgical antibact wash). My butt is as hairy as any monkey and im wondering if i need to trim or if indeed I have some sort of screwed up follicule (foliculitis?) or boil.
Is there any surgery that can remove the problem area?

ive also found too much cleaning is bad too, its rough on the skin...loose fitting clothing is good too, you dont want the area to get moist and hot

Get some chamois butter or something...that should keep it from coming back. assos makes some or bodyglide or something.....search some internet shops...youll find it
that should help out

I am a physician. Stop wasting time on these boards and go see a dermatologist. If it is a cyst, which you state you have lanced before, I have a piece of advice for you (if you value your groin) - don't do that again, have a urologist do it.
I'm betting it IS your saddleshirt

I had a similar problem (had the same saddle for years, too), changed saddles and now it's gone. One thing I think is key is that I have different saddles on my three bikes, which I ride pretty much evenly. That way I don't get exactly the same chafing action more than two days in a row.
